Moonrise Festival has been steadily releasing their lineup in phases, most recently unveiling their phase 3 lineup. This year’s lineup was already impressive, and they just added additional talent. The newly added acts include Dillstradamus (Dillon Francis and Flosstradamus), Alan Walker, Big Wild, Elohim and Sleepy & Boo. The phase 3 acts join headliners such as Excision, Flux Pavilion, Porter Robinson (live), Afrojack, Big Gigantic, Run The Jewels, Yellow Claw, and Kaskade.
Moonrise is Baltimore’s only EDM festival after the cancellation of Starscape a few years ago. This year, the festival returns to Pimlico Race Course on Saturday, August 12th and Sunday, August 13th for its fourth year. The festival is praised as one of the most diverse festivals on the east coast.
Last year, the festival had over 35,000 attendees each day. The headliners last year were also massive with artists such as Bassnectar, The Chainsmokers, Zedd, Tiesto, Flosstradamus, Marshmello, and more. The festival is organized by Steez Promo and Club Glow DC, and they manage to keep Moonrise diverse with sub-genres such as house, dubstep, trap, trance, and electronica.
Last year’s festival had four stages: Lunar, Stellar, Solar, and Celestial. According to their website, there will only be four stages once again. Since the day-by-day lineup hasn’t been released yet, the stage schedule hasn’t either so we will have to stay tuned and wait.
Early bird and GA Advance I tickets are already sold out, and as of now GA Advance II tickets are priced at $174 and go up to $184 once they sell out at the GA Advance II price point. VIP tickets are also available; VIP Advance I tickets are $274. Single day pass information is not up yet as the daily lineup has not been released yet.
The festival is moving to an RFID format for its ticketing this year. The festival has also talked about making upgrades compared to previous years such as adding more water stations. The festival really does listen to its fans and I’m sure we will see more info on new additions in time.
The final phase of the lineup is set to drop in July, but so far, this year’s lineup is superb and we are looking at another stellar year.
