Fundraising platform Surreal reveals EDC Week Charity Initiative

Featuring experiences with Marshmello, Zedd, Kaskade and more; Proceeds will be donated to the Las Vegas Academy for the Arts

Surreal Initiative

Surreal is a fundraising platform for festivals that connects artists and event planners to their audience through unforgettable experiences while raising money for charity. The proceeds generated go to the charity of the artist or event planners choice. To participate, anyone can donate as little as $5 for a chance to win an experience at a festival. Surreal provides an engaging way to create positive exposure, raise awareness, and make a difference in the world.
Last year, Surreal began partnering with Insomniac. However, this year, the festival producers have created nine experiences for winners that will take place at EDC Las Vegas and during EDC Week the days before. Previously, the initiative ran successful campaigns with Phoenix Lights Festival and the Goldrush Festival. In the future, the organization also partnered with festivals including Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Shaky Beats, and Firefly.

EDC Las Vegas Partnership

Surreal began partnering with EDC Las Vegas in 2017. Last year, it turned out that the fan experiences were a massive hit with the winners. Additionally, Surreal raised over $162,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada.
Last year’s packages included a ride on the Stratosphere Tower’s SkyJump attraction with Ghastly, a private round of Topgolf with Jauz at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, golf cart rides with Major Lazer backstage, and Ferris Wheel rides with Marshmello.

Prizes

When somebody donates the Surreal website, the donor automatically receives an entry towards one of the experience prizes at EDC Las Vegas. This year, the potential rewards include a helicopter ride down the Las Vegas Strip with Kaskade, a table and meet and greet with Marshmello during his EDC Week show at XS, and a helicopter ride into EDC with Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella.
In addition to the artist experiences, each winner will receive two VIP weekend passes to EDC, round-trip airfare, artist parking, and Desert Rose Premium camping packages for three nights. The grand prize has an estimated retail value of $2,350.
New this year, fans can bid on nine customized packages. A single bid donation starts at $5, and more significant contributions yield a larger number of entries into each experience. However, entries are capped at 25 per individual.

Las Vegas Academy of the Arts

This year, proceeds from the campaign will benefit The Las Vegas Academy of the Arts.  The Las Vegas Academy of the Arts is a nationally recognized magnet high school. Approximately 1,700 students attend. The school provides students opportunities to pursue studies in dance, music, theater, or visual arts. Through the arts, the LVA also promotes motivating, empowering, and challenging each student to be academic, artistic, and compassionate.
Currently, the Clark County School District has a budget deficit. As a result, schools have felt the frustration of losing funding for necessities, including teacher and guidance counselor salaries. LVA is no stranger to the dilemma of managing a school without the needed resources. They also received a budget cut of $500,000 for the 2018–2019 school year.

Sweepstakes

Give Surreal hosts multiple sweepstakes with charitable organizations seeking to raise money. No donation is necessary and there is an alternative method of entry through the mail. Each Sweepstakes is separate, and the details for the entry dates and prizes for each sweepstake, the beneficiary as well as other information will be available on the applicable Experience Page.
