Bassnectar Returns to Georgia for NYE

Bassnectar Spends NYE in ATL

In September 2016, Bassnectar played the first installment of his two-day “family gathering” held at an undisclosed location in Atlanta, GA. The show was revealed only a week before the event would take place in the basement of a convention center. That convention center is the Georgia World Congress Center. Bassnectar will be returning to the depths below this year for a New Year’s Eve celebration.

Aside from his live performances, Bassnectar spent the majority of 2017 focusing on the release of his ‘Reflective’ EP series. Visually-pleasing videos accompany many of the ‘Reflective’ songs created by artists like Sebastian Wahl and Kyrian Bobeerian. Attendees going to the NYE show should, therefore, expect plenty of these tantalizing visuals to debut.

Warped Horizon will also be coinciding with Bassnectar’s NYE extravaganza. The two-day event features the likes of G Jones, Dorfex Bos, Digital Ethos, Paper Diamond, and more. Many of these artists have collaborated with Bassnectar in the past. So it would not be a surprise if a few of these artists make appearances.

Bassnectar is clearly excited about the NYE party:

“Overwhelming gratitude to everyone mobbing to NYE – this event is TOTALLY sold out of tickets! We have reconfigured the venue every way possible, and stretched it to maximum capacity. And it still sold out wall-to-wall. This will be our biggest NYE event ever!”

Ott. hails from the UK and is a leading pioneer of the psybient-genre. He earned his respect due to the successful album ‘Hallucinogen: In Dub’, a dub-remix of Hallucinogen’s debut psy-trance album. Dropping the bpm’s and kicking-up the bass, Ott. can display a psychedelic album while maintaining a chill and relaxed vibe. Since then he has continued to release a handful of original albums that all set the bar for psybient music. Listen to his music here.

Phutureprimitive is the moniker of Bay Area producer and songwriter ‘Rain’. His SoundCloud bio describes his music as:

Dripping wet love drops of nasty mind melting sonic bliss. Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove-heavy beats, and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, there is also a profound sense of tranquility and beauty. Engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating into a full-on kinetic experience. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, his music ultimately speaks to the body, mind, and soul.

The Biggest Bassnectar NYE Ever

Floor plans for the expected room reveal more than 300,000 square feet of potential dance space. An estimated attendance of 25,000-30,000 people will easily fill that up. In 2016, Bassnectar performed in the basement of Building B, as seen in the diagram below (B1). In addition, The Haven will be a safe space where you can relax with a drink or snack before returning to the mayhem. Art stations will be available as well as spots to get your face painted or hair braided. Cover yourself with glitter and embrace your inner weirdo!

Bassnectar usually performs his NYE shows in a 360° setting. Artists perform in-the-round while fans surround the arena around them. This year, Bassnectar has scratched that model for a new idea. His NYE shows are also known for being the loudest and thickest celebration of bass of the year. It is unknown who will be providing the sound system this year. Rumors hint that Bassnectar will finish out 2017 with PK Sound’s newest array of Trinity speakers. Bass heads can only hope they will bring their 30″ Gravity subs. Most important, no matter the sound system, Bassnectar will deliver a mind-blowing experience.
