Sunset Music Festival Go-To Guide

Still looking for Memorial Day weekend plans? For the ninth straight year, Tampa Bay will rock the start of the summer holiday season with two days of your favorite EDM DJs. Sunset Music Festival is taking over Raymond James Stadium Saturday and Sunday for their 4th annual Sunset Music Festival (SMF) party.

Lineup

Sunset Music Festival boasts three stages throughout the Raymond James Stadium grounds. Evidently, this year they pulled out all the stops to bring the biggest lineup yet. One can expect major headliners such as Zedd, Illenium, Tchami, Fisher, Zed’s Dead, Bonnie X Clyde, Kaskade, Audien, Alison Wonderland, and plenty of others.

The artist lineup looks quite diverse. For example, Zedd will be sure to bring a party, while Illenium will provide the feels. Tchami, with his future and bass house vibes, will have everyone shuffling on the dancefloor. Zed’s Dead will delight the headbangers. There will be something for everyone, including amazing sunset events each day. Sunset Music Festival is shaping up to be one of the biggest festivals Tampa has ever seen. Dates and Location

This year, Sunset Music Festival will take place on Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th. Overall, the festival starts from 3:00 PM and ends at midnight both days. The North Lot of Raymond James Stadium, 4201 N. Dale Mabry Highway, will host the 2019 Sunset Music Festival.

Parking

Parking lots will open at 2:00 PM each day of the festival and will close by 1:30 AM each night. General parking per vehicle is $25, cash only. No tailgating or overnight parking will be permitted.

Altogether, ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft will be allowed to use a pre-event drop-off area. Specifically, southbound Himes Avenue in the right turn lane at the entrance to Lot 4 or Lot B. The post-even pickup area is located on southbound Himes Avenue.

Tickets

Ticket holders must present their ticket PDF (printed or on a mobile device) and valid ID to receive the wristband that will allow admission into the festival. There are general admission full weekend passes that go for about $189 plus taxes and fees. VIP weekend passes are available for about $289 and single day passes for $110. Additionally, you are also able to opt for the option of adding a phone charging locker to your order for $36, along with other items.

Stay Hydrated

Event organizers are advising this year’s Sunset Music Festival attendees to be prepared. With the mix of dancing and the Florida heat expected to happen, it is advisable to stay as hydrated as possible. Sunset Music Festival will be offering concertgoers free water as well as cooling stations throughout the festival grounds. For those who want to keep partying, bars will be set up throughout the entryways and will be serving per identification. The festival is 18+ to get in and 21+ to drink. Generally, the Florida sun is unforgiving, so for those out-of-towners visiting, be sure to stay hydrated throughout the day. Do not forget to wear sunscreen and bring your sunglasses.

There will be plenty of food vendors as well, so in the midst of the hustle and bustle, remember to eat and nourish your body. You will need it for energy to walk around the venue and to dance to your favorite artists.

More than 50,000 people attended last year’s Sunset Music Festival with more than half traveling from outside the Tampa Bay area. Buy a ticket so you can be one of those people and catch the SMF 2019 recap and learn how this festival stole our hearts.
