Chris Lake and Co. Entertained The Midway’s Great Crowd

Chris Lake's 'Black Book Block Party' at The Midway in San Francisco was a banging event on November 13, 2021.

The Midway is a nightclub in San Francisco that has seen many fantastic producers go through its doors. Some prestigious names who performed at The Midway include Gorgon City, Dom Dolla and Sonny Fodera, and John Digweed. On November 13, The Midway hosted a fantastic outdoor event on its grounds, the Black Book Block Party. The headliner was Chris Lake, the popular British house DJ/producer and founder of Black Book Records. Chris Lake also was joined by fellow British house star Chris Lorenzo, as well as other supporting acts VNSSA and Bruja. Here is the review of Chris Lake’s Black Book Block Party at The Midway on November 13.

Chris Lake’s Black Book Block Party pumped up The Midway

The atmosphere at The Midway got off to a good start with the first set, which was produced by Bruja starting at 4 p.m. Afterwards, VNSSA (pronounced as “Vanessa”), produced a nice set that ended at 6:30 p.m. and then Chris Lorenzo arrived. One notable scene amongst the crowd was the sight of someone bringing an EDC Las Vegas 2021 flag. It looked like that person still has EDC fresh in their mind and their heart and who could not blame them. However, the main thing on that night was the fun Black Book Block Party that began to heat up.

When Chris Lorenzo came on stage, there were more people that started coming onto the parking lot from inside the nightclub and also from the streets. Chris Lorenzo, who sometimes partner up with Chris Lake as part of the “Anti Up” duo, played his hit tracks such as “Rhymes” and “Fly With Us”. The beats from his tracks vibrated so much that the fences separating the grounds from the streets were ferociously rattling. As the night got darker, the party became livelier when it was time for Chris Lake to arrive.

The party becomes livelier

As the Black Book Records head got on stage, the grounds became almost fully packed. Chris Lake played some of his most popular tracks including “I Want You”, “Pizza”, and “Free Your Body”. Furthermore, he even played his latest single, “A Drug From God”. The beats still vibrated throughout the area and this time, these beats made the attendees there feel like they are attending a large-scale music festival.

Even the people who are buying (and waiting for) their food and drinks in front of the food trucks and the drink booths could not stop dancing. There was even a person who shuffled while holding a tikka masala rice bowl at the same time. Chris Lake’s music can certainly bring that kind of scene at his show. By the end of the night, everyone cheered with great delight after they witnessed fantastic house music.
