House Beats at The Ritz Ybor
Best known for his hits “Ocean Drive“, “I Got U“(which currently has 241 million+ views on YouTube), and “Real Life“, DJ/Producer Duke Dumont recently came through to The Ritz Ybor on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 to show us how house music is done. Disco Donnie Presents and Sunset Events always know how to host a party here in Tampa Bay. Support by local talents Christian Alexander and Nate Verde helped to get the night warmed up. OneEDM had the chance to check out the show, which was nothing short of a good time.
About Duke Dumont
What really sets Duke Dumont apart from the rest is his background in music. Before he started to release his own music many recognized him as a “producers producer”. He remixed many big names in music before releasing his own hits; Lily Allen, Bonobo, Santigold, and AlunaGeorge amongst others. In 2013,”Need U (100%)“, his first hit was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 56th Grammy Awards. Since then, Adam Dyment who produces as Duke Dumont has been defying the house scene norm. In his 2015 set at Coachella he played a completely live set, effortlessly. We look forward to what 2018 has in store for this musical genius.
The Show Begins – 1:15 a.m.
Duke Dumont’s performance was one of the best sets we were able to experience this year. From his upbeat dance rhythm to his classic house music sound, he sure kept us dancing til’ 3:00 am. He spun each of his hit songs, as well as remixes of some classics. His visuals were perfectly fitting and I did not stop dancing the whole time. Each beat gave you that overwhelming feeling throughout your body. The one that causes you to tingle and your hairs to stand, that vibrates your soul. That was the type of experience his set gave us. You could distinguish the fans there for him and the people just there to party. Those diehard fans were the ones singing every word and the ones that did not stop grooving to the deep house beats.
