Electronic Music Awards – RECAP
When you hear Electronic Music Awards you’d most likely imagine an extravagant red carpet, people in fancy attire, and speeches after every performer. However, the Inaugural Electronic Music Awards decided to go for a more casual, festival approach for their first year. Hosted in Downtown Los Angeles, this award show consisted of three stages with fire breathers, dancers, and stations to get your hair and makeup done.
Attendees were pleasantly surprised by the variety of attractions and creative stage designs. The audience ranged from industry executives to young adults in full rave gear. There were various food truck options ranging from tacos to grilled cheeses and multiple bars which offered a full VIP experience.
Moby, Illenium, Autograf, Paul Oakenfold, and Madeaux were some of the artists that took the stage. All of the performers, including the backup dancers, brought energy and amazing performances all night.
Awards were announced via Twitter Livestream, and Pluto TV which allowed those who couldn’t attend in person to still enjoy the thrill of the awards experience. Thankfully, ONEEDM had the opportunity to chat with Illenium, one of this year’s performers who also happened to win Remix of the Year.
Here’s what Illenium had to say about his award-winning remix of Flume’s ‘Say It’,
Flume is one of the best innovators in electronic music right now so it’s an absolute honor to have put my spin on this track. Tove Lo absolutely slayed it.
