Event Preview: Illenium’s Show at SF’s Chase Center
Illenium's Ascend Tour Heads To San Francisco on December 14th

Born in San Francisco as Nick Miller, Illenium‘s popularity and success in the electronic music scene continues to grow. This is in part to his extraordinary work in producing awesome remixes and innovative original tracks. Currently based in Denver, Illenium’s unique tracks in the genres of future bass, trap, and dubstep is due to his diverse ability to create music based on style, beauty, complexity, and emotional depth.
For the past couple years, Illenium has won prominent awards such as Best Male Artist (Bass) and Best Remix for his remix of Halsey’s “Without Me” at the 2019 International Dance Music Awards. Concurrently, Illenium’s rise in the charts is spectacular as well. His third and latest album, Ascend, topped the Billboard‘s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. One of his hit tracks on Ascend, “Takeaway” with The Chainsmokers featuring Lennon Stella, got ranked #1 on Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart.
Illenium’s Music Career in Summary
Illenium’s music career became more serious after seeing Bassnectar perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2012. He released his first self-titled EP in 2013 and followed that up with his second EP, Risen, in January 2014. Shortly after, Illenium released his debut album, Ashes, in February 2016. Ashes reached as high as #6 on the aforementioned Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and #19 on the Heatseekers Album chart.
That same year, Illenium released two notable remixes, The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down“, and Flume’s “Say It” (featuring Tove Lo). His remix of “Say It” went on to win Remix of the Year at the inaugural Electronic Music Awards in 2017. Subsequently, Illenium released his second album, Awake, in September 2017 and it is his first album to enter the Billboard 200 chart when it reached #106. Awake also peaked at #3 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
