Groove Cruise Sails Off To Celebrate 15 Year Anniversary

Day 1
Groove Cruise has left Ft. Lauderdale, Florida shores for the 15th time annually. Thursday, January 10th marked the anniversary of the world’s premier electronic dance music cruise. Thousands of attendees all over the world gathered upon the EDM themed cruise ready to get there groove on.
Captain EDX who has had this title for seven years now kicked off the event with a #GCFam photo on the main pool deck during sundown. Love was also in the air after the Swiss DJ proposed to his girlfriend just prior to being introduced to the thousands of fans on board. Upon stage, EDX was joined on his curated No Xcusesstage with dynamic house duo Leftwing & Kody and fan-favorite Liquid Todd as the world-famous Goodyear Blimp provided exclusive aerial coverage.

The multi-tiered venue saw electrifying sets from Brighton-based Prok & Fitch, Groove Cruise resident Anthony Attalla, and headliner Hot Since 82. Featuring seductive dancers, pyro, and epic lasers, mau5trap artist BlackGummy closed out the stage with his Obsidian set.
As the night continued, Captains got down in their best Wild Wild West themed costumes with friends old and new while the refreshing sea breeze invigorated the crowd to keep the party going. In addition, #TeamGetShipDone teased the next adventure for the beloved #GCFam, a first-of-its-kind complete island takeover in Catalina, California dubbed Groove Island.

Day 2
Groove Cruise sailed on over to its first stopping destination, Key West, Florida. Captains started the day off with a schedule full of liveliness. Activities such as Groove Cruise bar crawl, live comedy acts, and the first Groove Cruise drag show were all introduced.
While roaming around town at the first destination, attendees were seen dressed for the Groove Cruise classic Team Up theme. Guests participated in coordinating costumes with there fellow #GCFam; costumes included a group of Where’s Waldo striped shirts, pineapples, basketball uniforms from Space Jam, and other creative outfits.

The non-stop party continued back on the ship with Detroit house master MK’s Area10 stage on the main pool deck. With not a cloud in the sky, the drinks were flowing as Ajunadeep favorites Eli & Fur provided the perfect tunes for the gorgeous afternoon at sea. Guests were treated to a surprise B2B set with Hot Since 82 and Prok & Fitch before the “Back & Forth” hitmaker took to the decks.

On the Bacardi Terrace, trance DJ/producer Kristina Sky hosted her United We Groove fan-favorite stage. Kristina set out waves of good vibes by taking attendees on a musical journey. Following another epic sunset in the crisp ocean air, the evening’s Studio 54 theme witnessed captains wear their most impressive ‘70s-inspired looks. House music legend Roger Sanchez brought the inferno with a special disco set. Roger was able to match the theme featuring roller girls and contortionists. Also, Groove Cruise DJ contest winner The MDH Projekt traveled all the way from the UK to bring the beats to the Fortune’s Casino.
Next up was the “Unicorn Slayer” himself, Markus Schulz, who shut down the Celebrity Theater with an impressive open-to-close set. The evening didn’t end there as Technasia, Chus & Ceballos, Cocodrills, and more kept the party going until the night sky transitioned into a sunrise.

Day 3
Groove Cruise Miami continued on day 3 as the Celebrity Cruises’ Infinity voyaged to the tropical island of Cozumel, Mexico. Captains made their way to the stunning destination and were greeted by the legendary sounds of headliner Kaskade, who delivered a show-stopping 3-hour set.

Winter Wonderland theme was in full effect, #GCFam took over Playa Mia Grand Beach Park for an incredible afternoon of music. Beautiful weather called for activities such as snorkeling, and watersports. Guests were treated to free transportation and unlimited food and drinks at the beach club, while Groove Cruise founder Jason Beukema led the charge for the non-profit Whet Foundation Destination Donation. The foundation provided clothing and supplies to the Ciudad de Ángeles orphanage in Cozumel.

Back onboard the ship, the party showed no signs of slowing down. Silent discos to hip hop stages, attendees had an assortment of options to satisfy their music-loving needs. As day turned to night, the non-stop energy on the main pool deck continued with sets from Roger Sanchez, DeanMason, Kryoman, and more.
Up next were trance titans Aly & Fila, who captivated the crowd with their Future Sound of Egypt takeover in the Celebrity Theater. Alongside FSOE artists James Dymond, Monoverse, and Mir Omar.
Groove Cruise veteran Anthony Attalla kicked off the after-hours festivities with his infamous 7-hour sunrise set. Located upon Bacardi Terrace, his infectious tunes had the late-night crowd dancing under the stars well into Sunday morning.

Captains are preparing themselves for the final day at sea stacked with artist activities including a beer pong tournament with Leftwing & Kody and a talent show hosted by Markus Schulz.
