Lightning in a Bottle will now take place on May 8 – May 13, 2019 at Buena Vista Lake, Kern County, CA. Do LaB fans are excited about the new location announcement, coming just days before Early Bird Sales commence. Although the venue promises new experiences, some mixed reviews have surfaced online about the new location. Fans worry this might be a downgrade from their previous location at the San Antonio Recreation Area. Rest assured, Do LaB believes the venue is “an improvement in nearly every way”.

Kern County Board of Supervisors
Although Do LaB has officially announced Buena Vista Lake to be the new location of Lightning in a Bottle 2019, the Kern County Board of Supervisors has yet to come to an official decision on the five-day festival. Several board members expressed concern about drug use, traffic, and maintaining a safe environment for festival goers.
Putting on an event of this size, safety is always our number one concern. It’s a big issue everybody has. We take it very seriously. And there’s a lot of things we do to make sure attendees at our event are safe.

As noted, Flemming assures Kern County, budgeting at least $300,000 dollars into security, that safety will be their number one priority. Additionally, he emphasizes that bringing in 25,000 people, not just from California but around the world, will bring a lot of money to the local economy of Kern County. To conclude, the board remains optimistic about the plan, noting there are details that will need to be worked out, which is why they have delayed the vote. Supervisors are scheduled to discuss the matter at the next meeting on February 26.
As for Do LaB, they plan to continue with the Lightning in a Bottle loyalty and early bird pre-sales for 2019. They believe the venue is secured and are ready to move forward with planning their spectacular event. The venue offers a new creative space to tailor a unique festival experience and Do LaB is up to the challenge.
