MOVEMENT MUSIC FESTIVAL DETROIT DROPS FULL LINEUP FOR 2018
On Wednesday, January 24, Movement Detroit announces full lineup for 2018 on Wednesday, January 24. As usual, Movement Music Festival Detroit – the home of techno – will return to Hart Plaza on Memorial Day Weekend, May 26th through 28th.
Get ready to groove and move to this year’s lineup, as Movement Detroit aims to please music connoisseurs of all sorts. It offers a diverse variety of house and techno and expands to all realms of music from classical to dirty underground hip/hop.
5 STAGES, 1 MOVEMENT
Beginning on Saturday and running through Monday evening, festival-goers can expect to dance their hearts out at Movement Detroit’s five eccentric stages. Also, Movement Detroit festival organizer Paxahau says there will be new designs and elements across all five stages: Movement Stage, The Underground Stage, Red Bull Academy Stage, Stargate Stage and Pyramid Stage.
MOVEMENT DETROIT HEADLINERS
Movement Detroit brings top-notch headlining performances to close out the Movement Stage each night. On Saturday, May 26th, Dirtybird camp leader Claude VonStroke hits the main stage to top off the first day of the weekend. Following on Sunday, May 27th, Loco Dice, and The Martinez Brothers will end the day with a special back-to-back set. Last but not least, Monday, May 28th will end with a classic Wu-Tang Clan takeover, celebrating their 25th anniversary. Talk about an unexpected and epic Movement Detroit finale.
Alongside the main stage headliners, Movement Detroit offers a mass selection of elite master artists. Other acts include the likes of Carl Craig, Delano Smith, Diplo, Dubfire, Ellen Allien, Golf Clap and Helena Hauff. Also, Movement Detroit brings frequented Mrs. Drumcode – Ida Engberg. However, Mr. Drumcode – Adam Beyer – was nowhere to be found in the full lineup. Hence, with no doubt, this has sparked conversation and aroused questions among fans.
Additionally on the roster are John Digweed, Eats Everything, John “Jammin” Collins, the record breaker Joseph Capriati and KiNK (Live). To make the weekend even more extraordinary there’s Laurent Garnier, from the wizard that brought you the magical ‘All Day I Dream’. Also performing is the wizard himself – Lee Burridge. Not to mention Luciano, Maceo Plex, Mija, Seth Troxler and Solardo. Can’t forget the Detroit techno maven Stacey Pullen, the tantalizing, dark and sexy Nina Kraviz, and more.
In company with Claude, a few Dirtybirds will be joining the fun as well – FISHER, J.Phlip, Christian Smith, Justin Martin, and Tiga. Up and coming acts include Andrés, Black NOI$E, Clark Warner, DJ 3000, DJ Godfather, Gene Farris, The Saunderson Brothers and more.
