PREVIEW: The Disco Biscuits Present: Camp Bisco 2017
Camp Bisco, a jam-tronica festival started by the band The Disco Biscuits, is very well known within festival circles. Bisco has a long, storied, and deep past that stretches back 17 years to the dark ages of 1999, and now in 2017, Bisco is back for its third year in a row in their new location of Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Camp Bisco 2017 LineupCamp Bisco originated in 1999 “out of necessity,” Brownstein, The Disco Biscuits bassist, says “When the Biscuits started as a young Philadelphia band in the ’90s, we were in the festival circuit, and like any young band we started playing at noon. We knew within a year or two that we weren’t the noontime band anymore, that our fan base had outgrown that, but the promoters still didn’t necessarily believe it.” The band played to an audience of 1,500 at the 1997 All Good Festival at noon, which quickly cleared out after the Biscuits were done playing. That was the straw that broke. It is easy to say that the Disco Biscuits have come a long way since 1997 and this festival has grown to be one of the best festivals on the east coast of the United States.
“The Lineup”
Camp Bisco is going to lay the boom this year with a lineup so packed with talent it will have your head spinning. Here are just a few artists you will see at Bisco that you will never forget.
BASSNECTAR
Bassnectar is the king of electronic producing. He is known to put on shows that you will remember for the rest of your life. His new album Reflective just dropped and the tracks are in line with his signature sound. Make SURE not to miss him on Main Stage!
GRIZ
One known thing about Griz: he will bring the funk to Bisco. With his skills on the saxophone and creativity behind the turn tables, everyone in the crowd will be getting down.
ACTION BRONSON
For all you hip-hop/rap fans out there, Bisco has a special treat for you. Action Bronson is one of the hottest hip-hop artists out there. He has been featured on VICE in his series F*ck, That’s Delicious. He brings a whole new element to the main stage and is sure to throw down just as hard as anyone else performing.
12th PLANET
Last year at Bisco, 12th Planet raged at the Wave Pool stage and people went crazy! Yep, you heard right, wave pool. You will find out more about that further down. The heavy dubstep beats 12th Planet pushes out will get headbangers going wild and you will feel the bass flowing through your veins.
GOLDFISH
Do you love hooping and jamming out to Deep House? Because if you do, Goldfish will be there to give you the fix you need. With visuals that will stun you and melodic deep house beats, Goldfish will win over your heart at Bisco.
SLUSHII
Last year at Bisco, Slushii could be found performing on main stage, or even throwing down in the RV lot on the Jaenga Bus. His remixes of popular songs and original beats remind me of some of the best dance anthems that come around every year.
CloZee
If you want to get down to some primitive sounding bad-ass EDM, definitely check out CloZee. She traveled all the way from France for Bisco and has a very rare sound. You truly need to experience her music at least once in your life.
YOOKIE
Yookie is an absolute killer duo that brings trap music to a new level. The sounds and beats they produce melt one’s brain and truly get a crowd moving.
Other Artists
This lineup is stacked with so much talent. No matter what type of EDM you are into, Camp Bisco will have everything you can ever dream of available.
Venue: Montage Mountain + Full Water park

The final map of how the mountain will be planned out has not been released yet. What is known is that music goers will enjoy incredible light shows at the main stage under the huge canopy, which just adds to the effect and also keeps you dry! For those of you that don’t mind getting wet, there is also a stage right next to the wave pool. Camp Bisco is equipped with a full-blown water park which the festival attendees can take full advantage of for free! You can see 12th Planet killing it last year below.
Camp Bisco also offers free water at filling stations to make sure everyone stays hydrated. Since the camping is not directly next to where everyone will be parking, they also offer free rides on golf carts to the camp grounds. I recommend bringing a wagon if you have a lot of camping gear! Here are a few more images of what you can expect to see at Camp Bisco this year.
Camping
Bisco is located on a mountain, so for those that are used to camping on flat ground, there may be a learning curve. You will see tents pitched all over the mountain, up and down the ski slopes. Little communities of tents on the flattest spots around. It truly becomes an adventure and adds an extra element to the camping.
Some people train for Bisco on treadmills set at incline while others use liquid courage to climb up the mountain to their tent. At the end of the day, all you have to do is pace yourself, watch out for rattlesnakes, and PARTY! Plus when you get tired of walking, let me just remind you once again about that water park. Did someone say lazy river?
The Camp Bisco App
Camp Bisco has incorporated all the information about their festival into a handy app that you can install on your smartphone for free! Whether you want to check what time your favorite artist is going on, or just use the map to find out where you are, easily accessing the app on your phone will make the festival easier to navigate and keep everyone safer.
The app also showcases all of the vendors available at Bisco to make sure all of your needs are satisfied.
All general information that you may want to look up will also be available right in the palm of your hand.
Safety always comes first at festivals and there will be a fully staffed medical stations all over the festival in different locations.

Concluding Thoughts
Camp Bisco 2017 is going to be a festival not to be missed. P.L.U.R. (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) is the way to be, and at Bisco, we will all become one big family. Let’s come together this year and make this Camp Bisco the festival of the year. If there is one thing that can bring us all together, it is good vibes and EDM.
