What is Untold?
Since winning Best Major Festival at the 2015 European Festival Awards, Untold Festival has been a seasonal favorite. This is extra-noteworthy because 2015 was also the first year of the festival. It beat out powerhouses like Tomorrowland (Belgium), Sziget (Hungary), and Creamfields (UK) for the title.
Attendance the first year nearly hit a quarter-million guests and has been steadily rising since. This chapter is expected to be the biggest one yet.
For those who have not heard of Untold Festival, check it out now. It resides in Cluj-Napoca, a city in the heart of Transylvania, Romania. This is where local legend Count Dracula likely came to the party on the weekends.
The Music
The lineup every year at Untold Festival includes some of the best in EDM, and 2019 is no exception. With ten stages, the genres hit all parts of the spectrum. Prepare to hear from top names in House, Techno, Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, Trance, and artists of many other iterations and subgenres.
The list of headliners this year is strong enough to make everyone who is not going very jealous. Here are a few highlights for the big acts that we expect to be absolutely stunning:
3 Are Legend (Dmitri Vegas, Like Mike, Steve Aoki)
This trio of EDM titans will come together again for an unforgettable set at Untold 2019. Separately, these master DJs have produced some of the biggest anthems in the electronic dance scene. Together, we expect a full-house at Cluj Arena for this Main Stage dream. Check out their most recent release with W&W “Khaleesi” and get excited for what is to come.
Armin van Buuren
Armin van Buuren is a pioneer of Trance music and is an overall extremely talented individual. He has been widely considered one of the most talented DJ/producers of all-time throughout his twenty years in the game. Also a co-founder of Armada music as well as the brand and radio show ‘A State of Trance.’ We expect a high-energy performance from the Dutch veteran.
David Guetta
French DJ/producer and longstanding star David Guetta will headline this year at Untold Festival. Coming in at 15th on Spotify’s list of top monthly listeners, the international superstar continues to impress. His recent release “Instagram” became an instant hit that includes collaborations with huge names like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Daddy Yankee, Natti Natasha, and Afro Bros.
Don Diablo
He is considered a founding father of the Future House movement, and has been ranked highly amongst the top DJ’s for years. Don Diablo will surely bring festival-goers a beautiful experience at Untold 2019. His newest track “Brave” with Jessie J will make listeners feel invincible and ready to take on the world.
W&W
This power-duo consisting of Dutch producers Willem van Hanegem and Ward van der Harst is a great example of a successful partnership. They came together in 2007, created W&W, and have been unstoppable since then. Their sound has evolved over the years to include trance, electro house, and big room. W&W also host the Rave Culture Radio show which presents fresh music every other week.
