The Road Rave Drive-In Festival in Phoenix
The Road Rave Drive-In Festival in Phoenix, Arizona is an innovative two-day music festival on May 29-30, 2020

The Road Rave is a new drive-in festival that is taking place in Phoenix, Arizona on May 29-30, 2020. Carnage, Relentless Beats and Medium Rare have collaborated to create this innovative event in the current COVID-19 era. The venue is the Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler, a small city near Phoenix. Notable artists at The Road Rave include Hulk Gang (4B and Valentino Khan) and Dr Fresch b2b BIJOU. The Road Rave provides a fun yet safe atmosphere for EDM fans who have missed attending festivals due to COVID-19. This revolutionary concept blends a traditional drive-in movie theater with Carnage’s very own RARE festival series.
The Road Rave Drive-In Festival in detail
The Road Rave Drive-In Festival will bring a full festival main stage production to life. Meanwhile, viewers can dance to fantastic music as they are sitting inside or standing safely near their parked vehicles. The festival limits capacity to 500 cars, with a minimum of two and a maximum of eight people per vehicle. However, this two-day festival does not permit rideshare vehicles and buses. Concessions will be available to order online with direct delivery to each vehicle. The times for both festival days on May 29th and 30th are 7 p.m to 11 p.m.
To strongly emphasize the dangers of COVID-19, every festival attendee should wear their masks at all times. The Road Rave also enforces social distancing with strict guidelines and restrictions on when attendees are allowed to safely leave their vehicles. Carnage is going to donate a portion of the proceeds from the event and his forthcoming documentary to the ANF COVID-19 Relief Fund. The fund provides assistance to vulnerable communities in Nicaragua during the COVID-19 novel coronavirus outbreak.
The lineup at The Road Rave Drive-In Festival
There are also a few other DJs who are also joining the aforementioned artists at the festival. Acclaimed Mexican-American house producer Deorro and Phoenix-based DJ Blossom are performing on May 29th. Additionally on May 30th, “hardtrap” artist SAYMYNAME and Los Angeles-based dubstep DJ Paz will enhance the amazing atmosphere in Phoenix. The Road Rave was originally planned as a one-day festival on May 30th but it later got extended to two days because of the festival’s popularity. One can only imagine the addition of more artists if the festival added a third day (or even more).
Purchasing tickets
As of this writing, Day 2 of The Road Rave has sold out its tickets. Good news for people in the Phoenix area though, tickets for Day 1 are still on sale. The festival grounds possess the “Front Lot”, the “Middle Lot” and the “Back Lot”. Excluding service fees, the prices for maximum of five people in all three lots ranged from $115 to $295. The prices for maximum of eight people in all three lots ranged from $155 to $395. Interestingly for attendees who want to buy guaranteed tickets for maximum of five people, that price is $550.
Coming up next for The Road Rave
RARE and Disco Donnie Presents are co-hosting The Road Rave in Orlando on June 6, 2020 as well. Just like Day 2 of The Road Rave in Phoenix, The Road Rave in Orlando has also sold out its tickets. Disco Donnie Presents is also hosting a drive-in festival called “No Parking on the Dancefloor” in Houston on the same day as Day 1 of The Road Rave in Phoenix. It looks like drive-in music festivals may become popular for music fans in the near future.
