Interview with Aligee

Tell us about how you first got into music?

Ever since my childhood, I have been in love with music. Always collected albums and made playlists for different moods occasions. I never studied music at school but, when I was 15, I realised that I always wanted to try to add something to the music I was listening to. There was always some sort of feeling like maybe there was a way to improve the music I was listening to or how I could create my own version, with different sounds or melody etc. These were the main reasons that pushed me to find the FL Studio program for myself. I then started to develop my producing skills.

Who are the main influences in your music?

Interesting fact, I began my music career as a rap/hip-hop producer. I ended up writing and producing a few albums for local rappers. At that time, of course, my idols were Dr Dre and Scot Storch mainly. I still love rap/hip hop, but my music taste changed after listening to Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard it before?

Difficult question. I usually put my music first and only after starting to describe something. Each of my music productions is different and has its own story to tell.

What has been your biggest career achievement?

Last year I had the opportunity to be involved with many official remixes for big artists such as David Guetta, Robin Schulz and many more, they ended up being supported by other big names in the industry. I think that receiving such support for your work is a good sign of recognition and it’s a big achievement for me for now. There is still a long way to go and big dreams to achieve!

Do you have any hobbies outside of creating music?

Football! I love to play football with friends or to watch the game. Of course, if I have free time from the studio or other sessions.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Playing on the mainstage of big music festivals and making collabs with my idols.

Who would be your dream collaboration?

It would definitely have to be either Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5 or Eric Prydz…

If you could produce any other genre of music, what would it be and why?

I love experimenting. I actually noticed that I could produce some really good movie soundtracks. Especially with dramatic progression. Maybe someday, I will do that as well. A good soundtrack can tell a story without words and I love that concept.

What would be your ultimate career goal?

I also want to influence and motivate the younger generation with my music. It might take a long time, but I’m motivated enough to work hard for that. Maybe one day, when you will ask another producer about their musical influences, he will say my name. Legacy…for my family and friends, for current and future followers.

What’s next for Aligee?

I have several upcoming releases, shooting of music videos and working on some new tracks as well. Also, I’m planning some gigs in the near future so look out for those!
