Interview: Aside from music with DJ Phonon

Scott Moores AKA DJ Phonon is a British producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been responsible for tunes such as “Nobody“, “Karma” and “Don’t Want To Be Friends”’. Scott is the co-founder of Axiom Records and owns a Film and TV soundtrack company, we caught up with him to discuss what he gets up to outside of music.

What are some of your other interests?

Photography, Travel and surfing

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

I made cardboard Boxes in warehouse and quit after 6 hours, that was worse than fruit picking!

What other sort of music do you listen to?

I’m into a little of everything really – Blues, Funk, Rock, Afrobeat, Folk… the list goes on! I always find something good in every genre..

Do you have a favourite book, if so, what?

At the moment it’s the Cubase 10 Manual

Who is your hero?

Its between Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Paco de Lucia,  Albert Einstein and Alexander the Great

What skill would you like to master?

Music Composition/Production

What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?

Music Festivals

What city would you most like to live in?

I ask myself this question every day, any city with a beautiful lady!

Going to busy places
