Hi Damian, Tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi, I am Damian Force, Producer and DJ. I am currently living in Amsterdam and I have been in the music business for as long as I can remember!
How did you first get into music?
Music was born in my head even when I was a kid, I sang melodies that came to my head while attending kindergarten. I started DJ-ing vinyl at school when I was twelve years old. Also, from the age of 7 I had been singing in a choir for 8 years.
When was the moment you fell in love with dance music?
At the same time I started DJ-ing. I also danced as a kid from the age of 14, I loved break dancing it was my favourite!
What is your favourite song of all time?
There are a lot of tracks. One of the favorite is “Personal Jesus” from Depeche Mode. A few years ago, I sang the track and made a cover version. I sent the version to Warner music and they liked it, but Martin Gore forbade the release of cover without reason. I was gutted!
Who were your biggest musical inspirations?
Definitely African-American style music with their easily recognizable vocals. Among the musicians, I would like to mention Depeche Mode, David Guetta and Chris Willis. One of the last producers I played in my sets were David Penn and Fisher.
Tell us about one of your biggest career achievements?
I released “Where is your love’ back in March 2017 and it reached the National Airplay Top 150 Chart on the Digital Radio Tracker and was in the top 10 for over 5 weeks and stayed in the chart for another 23 weeks. I actually bumped into to Chris Willis at ADE and showed him the track and he gave it a spin in his set!
‘Where Is Your Love’ got re-released worldwide last year and reached a #6 position on the French iTunes Dance Chart and stayed there from February till May. My last release, ‘54’, reached the top position in the Netherlands and #15 in Belgium!
How would you best describe your music?
I like to create something new but it always has a dance character to it, even if the track is minor.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I always have a flair for other people’s music, whether it will be a hit.
Finally, what are your goals for this year?
Despite of the epidemic, my plans are huge! I am preparing my own audio and visual immersive 360 Dome Show. It’s specially created visual 3D without glasses, there’s going to be music, dancers and live musicians.
