Sacha Robotti Exclusive Interview at Dirtybird Campout

Sacha Robotti Exclusive Interview at Dirtybird Campout

Sacha Robotti is a well-enjoyed DJ/producer from Berlin, it was there as a teen he heard the rumblings of the underground house and techno. Not long after was his self-released vinyls in 2004 started breaking into the EDM world, with that he never looked back. With his infectiously fun and high-energy DJ sets, he shares his love for all types of music all across the U.S stages. It’s no shock that he has been rocking the Dirtybird Campout tour. One EDM was lucky enough to get a chance to sit down with Sacha Robotti.
OneEDM:
Can you tell everyone about yourself and your music?
Sacha Robotti:
“My name is Sacha Robotti, that is my real name. I moved here from Berlin where I was deejaying and doing music production for ten to eleven years. I moved from Berlin Germany two years ago to Los Angeles roughly. I want to stay here and make a career and build a future.
OneEDM:
Well, congrats because of the looks of it you are making it in your career. We spoke to many campers here at DirtyBird Campout, many were excited to catch your set.
Sacha Robotti:
Thank you, I am working on it. I am trying to make it to survive in this country. This is a very expensive country. Haha, That is what I am trying to do.
OneEDM:
What is something that you would like your fans to know about you that they do not already know?
Sacha Robotti:
Hmmm, that is a good question. I have more things than just one, I was part of the Dj dual named Robosonic. I did that for roughly ten years in Berlin with a partner. Some people do not know that. Many other people also do not know that I am an architect and I also studied sound design. One more thing is that I am thirty-seven, haha, you don’t have to include that part in the interview.
OneEDM:
Do you have any advice for any producer who wants to get into the industry?
Sacha Robotti:
Yeah, don’t buy to much shit you don’t need. Number one, just get a computer and get Ableton or logic, for me I use Ableton. Get to know that very well, and you don’t need crazy expensive sample packs. It is great to have it, but you do not need. Many think they need a bunch of money when they first start trying to produce.
No, you don’t. You just need ideas, a limited amount of gear and listen to different genres. Don’t just listen to techno or house, listen to jazz, classical music, everything. Produce, start deejaying, test out your tracks and don’t give up. Not giving up is the most important part. It great, its fun but not easy. Many have the same dream, so it is not easy, there are people who are super talented but never make it because they give up. Do believe in yourself.
OneEDM:
What is your favorite type of music? Or what do you listen to?
Sacha Robotti:
I listen to anything, literally. I like hip hop, 90’s, classic rock & roll, Spanish, Latin, jazz and classical music. To be honest, I don’t listen to techno as much as many think I would.
OneEDM:
Can you name some of your favorite music or artist right now that you need to have in your set?
Sacha Robotti:
Walker & Royce are doing big things right now; they are killing the game. Heard many artists at Dirtybird Campout playing their songs in there sets. Everything Claude VonStroke does is also really good too. He is a such a good artist.
OneEDM:
What do you feel when you’re playing a set and look up and see all of those who came to support you?
Sacha Robotti:
Gratitude loved, the feeling just makes me smile. Sometimes I don’t always smile but I am beyond grateful to have come this far with all fans supporting me. I can’t thank them enough.
