Steerner of Sweden, a new name in EDM, takes on the world with his vibrant house music. His accomplishments as a DJ touring the world, as a Producer in collaborations with established enterprises, met with his youthful ambition to pursue it all has him poised for star status.

Captivating audiences with his music, Steerner continues to engage us in an exclusive interview with OneEDM.

OneEDM: WHO AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO FOLLOW YOUR PATH IN MUSIC?

Steerner: It all started when I got introduced to electronic music like six or seven years ago. I really fell for the music and the vibe of it and I got very inspired to try to create it myself. At this point, EDM was not that big but for some reason, but you knew that it was going to blow up. And it did. For me, I think Tim “Avicii” Bergling is one of the biggest reasons why I do this today.

WHEN YOU ARE NOT CREATING OR LISTENING TO ELECTRONIC MUSIC, WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU ENJOY TO LISTEN TO?

Actually, I listen to a lot of EDM even on a random morning! But softer kind of stuff, like Kygo and Thomas Jack. Besides that, I listen to a lot of pop music, which I find very fun to produce as well.

ARE THERE ANY FESTIVALS OR GATHERINGS YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO ATTENDING AND PLAYING AT THIS YEAR?

I think every DJ would answer Tomorrowland or Ultra Music Festival. Of course, this is something that I am striving for and it would be amazing to one day play at some of those festivals!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT MAKING MUSIC?

When you are in the studio with your producer friends and suddenly you come up with something really good. And everyone in the room is looking at each other and feeling exactly the same thing and the same vibe. Amazing!

DO YOU HAVE ANY DREAM DESTINATIONS TO PERFORM AT?

Ultra Miami, no doubt.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE FESTIVAL TO PERFORM AT SO FAR?

Summerburst Festival in Stockholm!

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST SATISFYING ACHIEVEMENT?

When we did a one week tour in Japan, five cities all sold out. My track called “Sparks” was the number one song in Japan for two weeks at that time. One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.

APART FROM EDM, WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO?

I like to hang out with my friends and just do random stuff! I am also a pure gamer so I really enjoy playing games like League of Legends and Counter-Strike when I have some time off!

IN LIFE AND MUSIC, WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOUR BIGGEST STRUGGLES?

Sometimes I can be a very shy guy and that can be a problem when you travel and meet a lot of new people. A lot of speaking, like interviews. So for me, this has been a bit of a struggle through the years, but now that I am getting older I feel more mature. But it is still there of course!

Uplifting lyrics about expressing the truth of one’s feelings for another person set the tone for a good feeling throughout Steerner’s new single. The unique blend of electronic instruments with the authentic instruments such as the acoustic guitar also makes for a sonically-rich track.

Melodic and vocal-centric, this house track has an anthem-like style making it fit for inspiring the highest energy.

Sound Design

Everything about the sounds within the track is great. As the instruments play at such loud and defining levels, they each cut through the mix without drowning each other out. The vocals are especially well mixed as the singer’s voice approaches dynamic shifts in a manner that preserves the audibility of chorus and instruments underneath the voice.

The instruments are not so punchy, yet they get the point across and the sense of rhythm is preserved. As a result, the sounds in the track play well together creating a warm and bright wash of sounds.

Vocals

The vibrant message of expressing feelings of true love make for positive vibes. Consequently, the track delivers positivity as the vocals play throughout. The lyrics definitely make this an exuberant expression of feeling good.

Vibes

Positive feelings come from powerful forms of love: grandeur, immensity, and security. Listeners can bask in the passionate expression of love emanating from this track as it is a wholesome dose of positive vibes. Definitely among the happiest tracks in house music at the moment.

Audience Reaction

Audiences have given mixed reviews of Steerner’s latest release “I Wouldn’t Lie”. While some are good, others are poor. However, more listeners enjoyed the track than those who did not appreciate the track. Among the reactions, listeners express praise of the new track with words like “masterpiece” and congratulatory remarks like “good job”.

Although some listeners are disappointed, their reactions are opposing in appreciation. For example, some only lament that it does not sound like Steerner’s older tracks that were seemingly more enjoyable. Opposite of the previous review, others depreciate the track as an ordinary track that is “nothing special”.
