This morning, Thursday 16th August 2018 Amy Thomson announced, via Instagram that she would be ending her involvement with Swedish House Mafia at the end of the summer.

The post was accompanied by an image that seems to be from Steve Angello’s Insta stories in which he confirms that Swedish House Mafia are back in the studio.  In a honest post on her Instagram feed she said that she had informed the boys (Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso) that she would be leaving. Amy Thomson stands as one of the most powerful and innovative women in the music industry. Her bravery and everlasting passion for music are to be commended. She has defied people at every hands turn. Eventhough others told her it couldn’t be done she went and did it and in the process made history.

The great Swedish House Mafia reunion

Earlier this year Amy orchestrated the biggest comeback in music history when Swedish House Mafia reunited to perform at Ultra Music Festival‘s 20th anniversary event.  Amy brought the world of music and fashion together when Swedish House Mafia collaborated with Virgil Abloh for exclusive merchandise and a marketing campaign that drove fans wild with excitement and anticipation. First time around Swedish House Mafia made history on so many occasions. Remember Milton Keynes Bowl, Madison Square Garden or One Last Tour? Many often refer to Amy as the fourth member of Swedish House Mafia. Can we imagine the boys without Amy Thomson? Only time will tell.
