Dirtybird Campout East Faces Problems On Opening Day

Trouble in paradise? It looks like Dirtybird Campout East might be having a few problems. Earlier today fans of the festival who arrived at the event venue were told turn around and wait for official word from the festival to return. The event is set to take place at Forever Florida in Saint Cloud, Florida from February 2nd through the 4th.

Provided the event goes forward as planned, 2018 will be the inaugural year of Dirtybird Campout East. Event organizers announced that the gates to the event were closed until further notice around 12:30 PM today. At the time, fans were given no additional information and not told whether or not the festival would reopen. Event organizers subsequently followed up with a tweet around 2:30 pm that gates had opened, and have begun allowing campers to re-enter the venue. Although gates have reopened, there are no plans for music to continue on the first day of the event. Organizers have informed attendees that activities scheduled in the bunkhouse will continue as previously planned in place of this evening’s musical acts.

Fans of the event have speculated on Facebook that though camping and activities may go forward, music will not because the festival’s permit has been pulled by the county:

Dirtybird Campout has historically taken place on the west coast. It includes a plethora of summer camp activities for adults as well as an amazing musical lineup. 2018 is the first year of the festivals east coast edition. Previously, the festival had been given the go-ahead from county officials and was expected to take place as planned. Should the festival continue, musical acts are still scheduled to take place on both Saturday and Sunday. The Bunkhouse’s activities will continue as previously scheduled. Stay tuned to the events twitter account for the most up to date information.

This is a developing story, expect further updates.

UPDATE: Per the events official facebook page, it looks as though everything is back on track and the music will go on! The event and music will follow as scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday .

Yay!!!!

The music is back! After a long, sleepless night, during which no stone was left unturned, the music will be on today! Thanks to the officials of Osceola County for working with us to get this resolved, and to our campers who've kept the vibes so high! Scheduling updates to follow.
