EDM artists respond to the tragedies in El Paso and Dayton

This last weekend marked the dates of two horrifying mass shootings in a time span of 24 hours. Two different shootings took place: one in Dayton, Ohio and the other in El Paso, Texas. The outcome of these so said “hate crimes” left a total of at least 30 dead and more than 50 people injured.

Of course, another national debate on gun control and violence has surfaced. Both shootings took place the same weekend that hundreds of thousands of people should have been celebrating at HARD Summer in Southern California or Lollapalooza in Chicago. However, the country was wrapped in a deep state of mourning, grief, and also anger. Similarly, members of the EDM community expressed deep emotions in response to the shootings.

EDM community responds to mass shootings

Big time EDM names spoke over the incidents that took place over the weekend. This was in response to both shootings, which were barely 13 hours apart. The El Paso shooter has been arrested and charged with capital murder; the Dayton shooter was reportedly killed by police about 30 seconds after he fired his first shot.
