Hardwell calls time on touring

Today, two time world number 1 DJ Hardwell has announced that he will no longer tour and perform live. In a posting on his social media accounts this morning Hardwell penned a personal note to the world. In the note he spoke of the toll that a heavy touring schedule has placed on him and the need for him now to focus on his personal life and other things.
“I realized that there’s still so much I want to share with my family and friends, so many roads I’d like to explore, but, being Hardwell 24/7 leaves too little energy, love, creativity and attention for my life as a normal person to do so”.
With success comes increased demand, high expectations and a vicious circle in some cases. In the early days it’s all an artist dreams of but the loneliness and pressure that a busy touring schedule brings can have a detrimental effect on an individual. The bigger you become the more people demand and expect of you.

Hardwell has dominated the dance music industry for many years. His breakthrough track and collaboration with Tiësto entitled ‘Zero 76’ brought Hardwell to the attention of the world. In the following years, the Dutch producers star shone brighter as he began his own label Revealed Recordings and created hit after hit. In addition, his popular radio show Hardwell On Air has had a large loyal following
His I AM HARDWELL World Tour that spanned a number of years was one of the most successful tours within the electronic music industry. This tour coincided with the creation of his I AM HARDWELL documentary directed by Robin Piree. Robin joined the Dutch producer on tour for two and a half years in order to create the film.
