A Greater Cause
American DJ/producer Kaskade spreads blessings and cheers for the holiday season with new music and more. Already have given his fans the gift of a Christmas album, Kaskade uses his international brand to support a greater cause. The DJ created a Kickstarter to help fund Project Favela, a free children’s school in Brazil that is caught in the crossfires of cartel violence and in need of major saving. Even Santa and his elves could not deliver such a Christmas miracle.
PROJECT FAVELA
Recently, Kaskade created a Kickstarter to help fund Project Favela, “an organization that uses education as a tool in hopes of creating opportunities that could change the lives of others within the communities of Rio de Janeiro”. Everyday Project Favela has almost 60 children come through their doors.
The schools offer a variety of educational courses: drama, music, civics, and a STEAM Academy (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) program. The students also attend the school free of charge. In the evenings, they run a girl empowerment course and adult English classes.
Currently, the school is at risk of closing due to ongoing cartel violence in Brazil. According to the Kickstarter page, Project Favela has never had to solicit help directly. On September 19, a cartel war interrupted the social peace. The school is riddled with bullet holes and the surrounding violence is turning the volunteer recruiting upside down and drying up their revenue streams.

All donations will help keep the school operating through 2018. The donations will enable Project Favela to continue to offer students a safe place to play and learn. The project will only be funded if they reach their goal of $10,000 USD by January 15, 2018.
Pledge and Recieve
With the kindness of his heart, Kaskade steps in and takes the reins by using his own music and merchandise to incentivize donations.
Kaskade is offering anyone who pledges $50 USD or more a signed copy of “Kaskade Christmas”. Further, anyone who pledges $75 USD or more will receive a signed limited-edition Redux poster as well as a signed copy of “Kaskade Christmas”. Lastly, if you pledge $100 USD or more, you will receive a signed limited-edition Redux poster, a signed copy of “Kaskade Christmas”, and a Kaskade Vertigo T-Shirt.
Kaskade speaks of his determination:
“Project Favela is a free school in Rocinha, Brazil. It is in danger of closing due to a cartel war. We are going to keep it open.”
As you can see, Project Favela is near and dear to Kaskade’s heart. He and supporters have already raised $8,420 USD, which just short of the goal.
