Sunset Music Festival 2.0 Postponed Until Independence Day Weekend

Sunset Music Festival 2.0 has joined the bandwagon of postponements. With COVID-19 still being quite prevalent in the U.S., it makes the best sense. It’s unknown when life will somewhat go back to a sense of normalcy. Unlike many other postponements, like Coachella and EDC LV, SMF 2.0 has opted to shoot for this summer. The Sunset Team hopes to be a shining light at the end of this hardship for our country. So, what happens now?

New Dates for SMF 2.0

As of now, Sunset Music Festival 2.0 is scheduled for Independence Day weekend instead of the initial Memorial Day weekend. The venue for the festival is still Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Sunset Team is working closely with local officials to reach their goal of July 3 and 4, 2020. As always, they will continue to update everyone as soon as they can.

If The New Dates Work…

If the new dates are plausible, there’s nothing further for you to do. Tickets will automatically be transferred to the new dates.

If The New Dates Don’t Work…

Sunset Music Festival 2.0 is offering a full refund, including service charges, for anyone that is unable to attend now. There are a couple of things to keep in mind to ensure a refund is received.

First, the deadline to request a refund is Friday, April 24, 2020, at 11:59 pm ET. Use this link to request your full refund. Refunds will be processed within 7 days of the request. In addition, depending on the bank, it may take 3-5 additional days to see funds into the account that made the purchase.

Second, customers that need to freeze their payment plan due to financial stress are able to. The deadline for this is Monday, April 13, 2020, at 11:59 pm ET. In order to freeze a payment plan, email help@seetickets.us. If you don’t meet the deadline, there will be no way to freeze your account. Make sure to complete your request by this deadline if you’re planning on freezing your account!

Hotels

Reservations booked using Sunset Music Festival 2.0’s partner site will automatically transfer to the new dates. Duration of stay, confirmation number, price, and terms & conditions will remain the same as well. Expect to see an email with reservation details in June.

All questions about hotel reservations should be directed through Affinity Travel. Due to COVID-19 causing decreases in staffing, SMF 2.0 asks that people refrain from calling or emailing the hotel directly. Instead, use this form and expect a response within 48-hours on working business days.

Other Lodging

If you booked lodging through any other method besides the partner site, SMF 2.0 recommends contacting your host through that site. SMF 2.0 has no ability to require your host to refund your stay. If your host rejects your refund request, contact the booking site directly. SMF 2.0 suggests requesting refunds under a “force majeure” since Tampa is currently under a stay-at-home order.

Lineup

SMF 2.0 states that 95% of their original lineup has already been confirmed for the new dates. They expect to release the new lineup next week, keep an eye out for that! For now, check out the Phase 2 Announcement, you’ll be seeing the majority of these artists this summer.
