NYC based DJ and label head A-trak has dropped an all-new collaborative song featuring house Legend Todd Derry. The single, titled, “DJs Gotta Dance More,” is described by the producer as “an ode to record-digging and bedroom beat-making.”
“I met Todd through my Duck Sauce partner Armand Van Helden,” A-trak further explained. ” I’ve always seen both of them as my spiritual godfathers. We share a tradition of bringing the hip-hop ethos to house music. Getting to work with my heroes is a real privilege to me. In a way, this is a song by “DJs, for DJs.”
This release follows A-trak’s recent announcement regarding his 2nd annual Goldie awards, which has been scheduled to take place on November 8th at Brooklyn Steel. This innovative event serves as a competition for a variety of DJ’s and producers from around the world. Event hosts Desus Nice and Nadeska Alexis are set to be joined by a panel of judges including Mark Ronson, Just Blaze, Craze, Murda Beatz, El-P, Anna Lunoe, Boys Noize and Venus X.
