After almost two years of anticipation, Ed Banger family’s Breakbot has released an infectious new single called “Be Mine Tonight”. The track is nothing short of Breakbot’s absolute best as he returns to his signature disco dance rhythms. Also, nostalgic synth melodies that have garnered him praise in the past. With layers of groovy electric guitar, and vocals from Capucine Delafleur, the song provides the perfect soundtrack for escaping to a place of warmth and good feeling.
Recently, the instrumental of “Be Mine Tonight” was featured in a new Chanel eyewear campaign. The modern yet retro-feeling advertisement contains a plethora of celebrity musicians and actresses, such as: Pharell, Margaret Qualley, Angéle, Isabelle Adjani and Sébastien Tellier. This is the second major ad Breakbot’s music has been featured in, with a Nissan campaign coming before it.
With just a few months to go, Breakbot will soon celebrate the 10th anniversary of possibly his most influential record, Baby I’m Yours, which now stands at more than 250 million streams. Baby I’m Yours was the first time Breakbot worked with fellow musician Irfane, who since has become a frequent collaborator.
“Be Mine Tonight” is the first of two singles from an upcoming two track EP planned for release in April. With this, Breakbot will embark on a tour of the US where he will perform in cities such as NYC, Miami and Chicago. The tour will close at famous Colorado venue, Red Rocks Amphitheater where he will be opening for electronica jam-band Lotus.
