Cedric Gervais goes back to his roots for new single “One Night”

Cedric Gervais has been a force in the EDM industry for more than a decade now since his debut album The Experiment hit the shelves back in 2006. Through the years, he has produced music in so many different genres and seen many trends come and go. “One Night” is a homage to another era in electronic music. In what feels like a bit of a stylistic change from the Delecta label boss, “One Night” brings a darker, more brooding feel, along with particular inspiration from the sounds of the disco era.

You can give “One Night” a listen below.

About the track

With a repetitive vocal loop from lyricist, Wealth, and a gritty bassline that doesn’t change throughout the whole song, “One Night” feels like a track that went back to Gervais’ early house music roots. He can incorporate and mix lyrics into the song easily, as the style meshes with the production laid down by Gervais.

“I’ve been dissatisfied with a lot of the new music I’ve been checking out as of late and found myself looking to the past and listening to the music I used to play early in my career. In fact, some of these records have inspired me as a producer in the studio. “One Night” was created with this mindset.” – Cedric Gervais.

This feels like a track that could easily fit into any of his sets for a change of pace. The song manages to keep you on your toes throughout, adding different breaks, but never treading too far from that dark bassline. It is a great time to debut this track, as the United States’ premier music festival/week, “Miami Music Week” is right around the corner, and Cedric will be busy that week, playing Wednesday, Mar 21 at LIV in Miami Beach with guests Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Gervais will also hit the main stage at Ultra Music Festival which is taking place Friday, Mar 23 – Sunday, Mar 25.
