DJ, producer, and mixing engineer Cassian has finally released his debut album, Laps. The album’s production process took five highly-anticipated years until it finally dropped. The nine-track collection was definitely worth the wait as it showcases Cassian’s span of technical, songwriter and producing abilities that Cassian is renowned for. There are some already released favorites on there that we’ve loved forever.
Some of those favorites include ‘Lafayette’ and ‘Same Things’. However, we’re most excited about the new tracks that are bringing bliss and euphoria to our Friday. Those tracks include ‘Imagination’ featuring Tora and ‘Together’ featuring Thandi Phoenix. Laps is a testament to Cassian’s artistic depth and recognizable sound that has built so much of the Australian dance music scene. That same sound is also making its presence here in America as well.
Cassian has worked with RÜFÜS DÜ SOL, Hayden James, What So Not, Bag Raiders, Crooked Colours, etc. He is building the foundation of the melodic electronic genre that is sweeping the dance music scene. Last year, he earned a Grammy-nomination for mixing RÜFÜS DÜ SOL’s mega hit ‘Underwater’. Leading up to that he played unforgettable sets at iconic places like The Shrine and The Fonda in Los Angeles, San Diego’s CRSSD festival, New York’s Elsewhere, and more. For anyone that still thinks Cassian is an emerging talent, we’re here to say he’s a household name.
