Jantsen drops first mixtape in nearly six years: ‘Gutter Music Vol. 2’
Valhalla Mix Series #001: Jantsen (Gutter Music Vol. 2)
Jantsen has been stirring up his own strange brew of heavy bass and dubstep this year. Having released his hard-hitting POST HUMAN EP in December, the DJ/Producer from Boulder, Colorado is back with his first mixtape in nearly six years. Gutter Music Vol. 2 clocks in at just over 48-minutes, blending together everything from hip-hop legends like Notorious B.I.G. and Eazy-E to Minnesota’s recently famed “High and Low”. Jantsen entertains bass heads with a VIP version of his famed collaboration track “What” with Bassnectar, while sprinkling a little bit of Snoop Dogg’s “Drop it Like it’s Hot” in the mix, mashing it with Excision, and of course, a proper amount of thick and thug reggae lyrics. Well, I finally made a mix, and its been about six years since my last one. There are four new unreleased tracks and loaaaadz of my mashups and edits that I’ve been playing out. It’s very sample-heavy which is why I’m calling it Gutter Music Vol. 2, the 10-year follow up to volume one.
