As their first release in almost a year, the Australian duo, Lastlings, has released a new track titled “Deja Vu” on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s label Rose Avenue Records. After catching their attention while touring in Australia, RÜFÜS DU SOL invited Lastlings to come out to their Venice studio on Rose avenue to spend some time recording and writing together. The result is an exciting future for Lastlings after resonating deeply with RÜFÜS DU SOL with similar tastes and sounds in the studio. As a young duo, this comes as an exciting time, already catching the attention of others like WMag, i-D, HYPEBEAST and Blackbook that will surely propel their reach in the coming months.
About the track:
“Deja Vu” brings a new sound that the brother-sister duo has been working towards. It contains deep vocals and entrancing synths that will make you feel like you actually are experiencing deja vu. This will become a track that you won’t just hear late into the night on the dancefloor, but also one that will find a global light with its pop feel and resonating lyrics. The duo explains by saying:
“DEJA VU, is the first offering from our next project. The song is, for us, a new sound. A sound we have been working towards for over a year now. We’re fine tuning ideas every day, discovering more about ourselves & our music every time we step into the world we have been creating. DEJA VU is especially important to us as what feels like the beginning of a new chapter for LASTLINGS.” – Amy & Josh
RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records is a huge and exciting new venture for the Australian trio. It is proving wide success with their first debut track by fellow indie electronic favorite Cassian back in October. Now following up with “Deja Vu” by Lastlings, an exciting 2019 is forthcoming. Expect more similar artists to be brought into the light via the label.
