Nicky Romero continues his hot streak of notable releases throughout 2018. In recent weeks and months Nicky has collaborated with longtime friend and producer Steve Aoki (“Be Somebody”) and during the summer with Stadium X (“Rise”). Earlier this year, Taio Cruz (“Me on You”) and Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (“Here We Go”, “Hey Boy Hey Girl”) were the focus of Romero’s musical partnerships.
“Paradise” is the Dutch producers latest release alongside Deniz Koyu and is available to stream/download now. The experimental dance-pop collaboration sees these iconic producers join forces with popular Canadian indie-pop band Walk Off The Earth. Romero and Koyu swap their traditional house beats for a more organic instrumental that blends seamlessly with the smooth vocals. All three groups have successfully blurred the lines between genres with effortless ease.
Romero has been exploring projects with artists outside the dance music genre recently. Most notable of these collaborations this year has been “Where Would We Be”, a production with American singer-songwriter ROZES. This talented singer is no stranger to the dance music genre having previously joined forces with Galantis and The Chainsmokers for releases.
Koyu returns to Protocol for the release of “Paradise” for the first time since 2015 when he released “Never Alone” with Thomas Gold and “The Way Out” featuring Amba Shepherd. Deniz Koyu is often seen operating under his popular alter alias KO:YU. He’s worked on significant remixes including Alesso’s “Is That For Me”. Both producers have evolved immensely in recent years and now hold firm positions within the electronic music scene.
Walk Off The Earth have become best known for their popular covers of songs and have amassed a substantial following on YouTube with 3.2 million subscribers. Some of their most famous covers include Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You”. In addition, the band has released two original albums. Check out more from them here.
