Iconic veterans Nicky Romero and Deniz Koyu team up once again, this time for their newest release, “Destiny.” Both artists return to their roots on the track inspired by their classic vocal progressive house sound. Incidentally, this is the same sound that took the world by storm in the EDM explosion of the early 2010s.
Destined for greatness
Nicky Romero and Deniz Koyu’s “Destiny” has a soft and harmonic opening. Its focus is on instrumentals and the soulful vocals by Swedish singer Alexander Tidebrink. Subsequently, it evolves into an uplifting drop with soaring melodies that are born for large scale festival stages. Quite notably, Nicky has been playing it in his sets as the closing track since the Tomorrowland 2019 festival.
Twice is nice
Additionally, this isn’t the first time he and Deniz Koyu have collaborated. They first teamed up in 2018 on their hit track “Paradise” ft. Walk Off The Earth, which amassed over 30M streams on Spotify alone. On the flip side Koyu recently released original singles, such as “Feel It” on Tiësto’s Musical Freedom, and “Enemy” on Martin Garrix’s STMPD RCRDS.
Nicky Romero’s repertoire
Nicky Romero has progressed from a musical prodigy to one of the most prolific names in modern dance music. He is not only a talented DJ and producer, but also the label mogul of Protocol Recordings. Adding to his impressive accomplishments is the fact that he’s a mentor to aspiring artists whose careers he helps cultivate.
His work also included high-profile remixes of Alesso’s “Is That For Me” and The Chainsmokers’ “Young.” Both Romero and Koyu have evolved with the constantly changing landscape of electronic music, while staying true to their roots. Collaborations from these two are always special, and we can only hope there are more in the future!
