Even as house and techno become more mainstream in the modern dance music scene, there will never be a shortage of artists keeping true to the roots of the genre. Paul Kalkbrenner is one of those artists, and his new track “Part 6” demonstrates his unrelenting dedication to techno.
This track is another part of Kalkbrenner’s upcoming LP ‘Parts of Life’. Coming just after his world-renowned mixtape series ‘Back to the Future,’ ‘Parts of Life’ serves as a love letter to his hometown of Berlin and Europe’s role in the evolution of techno. Unlike the ‘Back To The Future’ series where he guided listeners through Berlin’s musical history using both original tracks and classics from other artists, ‘Parts of Life’ is entirely Kalkbrenner’s own productions.
“Part 6” is befitting of the style associated with Kalkbrenner’s legendary live performances. The techno and dance influence is unmistakable , but the flowing synths and uplifting vocals will inspire hope in even the darkest of settings.
To accompany the release of the single, Paul Kalkbrenner filmed a live performance of the track on the infamous grounds in Boom, Belgium where Tomorrowland is held every year. In less than 100 days he will return to mainstage at the legendary festival, and it’s clear he couldn’t be more excited.
