WAVEDASH x Quest Release “Devil’s Music” via Mad Zoo

Devil’s Music
WAVEDASH, the newest addition to Mat Zo’s label Mad Zoo, released a collaborative single with Quest featuring vocals from fknsyd. The song is titled “Devil’s Music” is in no attempt to be subtle. It is a brutal bass-track that would be perfect for a rave in Hell. It evokes horror films and unearthly settings with eerie organs, white noise, and heavy use of distortion.
Both drops utilize an aggressive bass, but it is the glitchy and chaotic second drop that truly epitomizes the track’s imagery of dancing with demons. fknsyd’s sinister yet seductive vocals match perfectly with the song’s tone as she spouts sacrilegious lyrics like “I had to let him in, I had to play the fool / Cause I was made to tussle with the creatures and the ghouls.”
The track was released on May 11 via Mad Zoo but has been in the making since 2016. This marks the third collaboration between WAVEDASH and Quest, along with “Flood” in 2015 and “Off Leash” in 2017.
WAVEDASH and Quest are no strangers to hard-hitting dubstep tracks. “Devil’s Music” has been praised by Mat Zo himself, stating the single showcases a “sophisticated side to them, well beyond their years.” The single is a strong start for the Mad Zoo newbies as it fits with the label’s emphasis on production quality, texture, and visceral material.
WAVEDASH
The three teens from Austin, Texas have been making a name for themselves in the world of bass music. They have garnered recognition from the likes of Skrillex who featured their track “Bang” on an OSWLA compilation back in 2016. Last year, they released their Hundred EP which includes “Off Leash.”
More recently, WAVEDASH collaborated with Slander on the song “Move Back” and performed as special guests with him at Ultra. The trio has even performed a set at EDC Las Vegas this past Friday on the Kalliope Art Car.
