Introducing ULTRA-Mexico Edition

It’s no longer just tequila shots, margaritas, and sombreros south of the border. Sorry Miami, you’re no longer the closest option for those in the Western states to enjoy the beauty of Ultra. Ultra-Music Festival has embraced the salty air to bring us a Mexico edition landing October 6 -7, 2017. Who’s excited? An expected 80,000 festival goers are excited.

Nearly 20 Years of Ultra

What better way to celebrate nearly 20 years of delivering music to our ears, then branching out to new venues. Ultra Mexico will be the 4th music festival to walk the grounds of Latin America, others including Argentina, Brasil, and Chile.

Ultra is known for delivering top artists as well as showcasing smaller artists that might not be on overdrive yet. In 2008, Ultra introduced ‘Ultra Worldwide,’ showing just how loyal it’s fan base truly is and that Ultra is in demand. The icing on the cake? Ultra Miami was voted the best festival in the world for the second year in a row, so you know Ultra Mexico is going to be insane. If going by the fact that Ultra’s site crashed during ticket launch, we can only expect it’s going to be nothing short of amazing.

Where Do We Have to Go?

Foro Pegaso in Toluca, Mexico, is where the magic will happen. For those metal heads out there, this is the home of previous festivals such as Knotfest showcasing Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, and others alike. For those house, electronica, or synth-pop lovers this is the home of Ceremonia showcasing Disclosure, Flume, and Bob Moses in 2016. With 40 hectares of open space, Foro Pegaso is the perfect setup for Ultra allowing for several stages and most important, safety for the festival goers. Worried about places to stay? Good thing you’d be in close access to more than 120 hotels with heaps of restaurants and bars to choose from – win -win situation right there.

The Line-Up

The full line up hasn’t dropped yet, but the teaser of the Phase 1 lineup is mouth-watering. To name just a few headliners you can expect to be graced by Afrojack, Alesso, and Armin van Buuren. We all know Afrojack as the Dutch God spinning tracks and doing insane collabs. Traveling across Europe we then find ourselves the Swedish mastermind of Alesso who we definitely could be heroes with (see what we did there?). Then we revert back to comfort of the Netherlands again with the man who hosted the weekly radio show ‘A State of Trance,’ Armin van Buuren.

Even the greats need equally great support, so alongside the powerhouses you can expect to see Heatbeat, SKAZI, and Orjan Nilsen, just to touch the surface. Heatbeat are an Argentinian trance – electro duo turning heads with their tracks ‘Paradise Garage,’ ‘Ask the Angels,’ and ‘Chow Mein.’ From Israel, psychedelic trance will be delivered by Skazi and from Norway, Orjan Nilsen, will be delivering trance. Orjan has done collabs with Armin van Buuren and Cosmic Gate amongst many others.

Even though we don’t know the full line up yet, it’s looking to be another Ultra event showcasing the ultimate best of the best. Check out the Phase 1 Lineup below.
