Dutch music exports hit €200m in 2017, dance music dominates

Dutch audio exports topped $200m for its first time in 2017, according to new statistics from Buma Cultuur. Buma Cultuur is an organization that tracks the musi industry. Of the $201m, more than 75 percent came from dance music. In fact, international attractions such as Tiesto, Martin Garrix and Afrojack are contributing factors to this statistic.

Of this total, some $22.5 million is got via rights. Additionally, about $12 million is from records. The remaining $166 million came from live performances. Classics from the past also continue to deliver financial rewards. These include Golden Earring’s Radar Love and Venus by Shocking Blue.
