Ben Harvey Named President of Kygo’s Palm Tree Records

Kygo’s Palm Tree Records has named its new President: SiriusXM on-air personality Ben Harvey.

Harvey has been in radio for over 20 years. In fact, he served as Program Director at SiriusXM for over six years, leading the downtempo electronic and deep house channel Chill as well as the 2000s hits station Pop2k. Additionally, he served as an afternoon on-air host for BPM, the network’s dedicated dance channel.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Palm Tree crew and Sony Music,” Harvey said. “Six years ago, I discovered a Kygo remix on SoundCloud, and ever since then, I have been proud to be part of his journey.”

Palm Tree Records launched back in October 2018 as a joint venture between Kygo, his manager Myles Shear and Sony Music Entertainment. In addition to managing Kygo himself, the label has already signed artists like Jhart, Justin Jesso and Valerie Broussard.

“Really excited to have Ben on board as the President of Palm Tree Records,” Kygo said of the announcement. “He was instrumental in bringing my music to North America since the remix days. Ben has a great ear and is a big supporter of emerging artists.”

Previously, back in 2017, Billboard named Harvey one of their 40 Under 40 Top Young Music Power Players. He also considered a key player in popularizing Petit Biscuit in the United States.

As Palm Tree Records’ new president, he will supervise the day-to-day operations and overall management for the label.

“Kygo, Myles Shear and their team have built a consistent and quality global music brand,” Harvey said. “I look forward to working alongside them as we create a sonic movement all about good vibes with a roster of like-minded artists.”
