Soundcloud Chief Product Officer resigns

SoundCloud Co-Founder Eric Wahlforss is stepping down as the platform’s Chief Product Officer. However, he will remain with the company. In fact, he will
Wahlforss was named Chief Product Officer in January 2017. This was following the appointment of Yahoo execive Artem Fishman as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering.

Wahlforss was based in SoundCloud’s Berlin HQ. There, he previously oversaw the engineering and design teams. He was also responsible for data and insights.

Eric Wahlforss stated the following on twitter.
After 11+ years of building Soundcloud, it is time for me to take a break, reflect, and think about what’s next.

Writing in an accompanying memo, he added the following:
This was not an easy decision to make, but one of the biggest reasons why I feel I have made the right decision is that the company is in such capable hands.
It’s been a pleasure working with [CEO] Kerry [Trainor] and the new leadership team over the past 18 months.
Our team is stronger than ever, and we have very exciting plans slated for 2019.
