Tesla Investing In Their Own Music Streaming Service?!

According to an article recently published by tech site Recode, the modern pioneer of his time Elon Musk is looking into what it takes to have his own music streaming service. The article explains that they have not set anything in stone, but have reached out to many record labels to find out what is required to obtain the proper licenses for streaming music. This directive would be aimed at Tesla to bring a custom streaming service to the hottest vehicles currently on the market.

Tesla’s new music streaming service would most definitely serve the loyal and almost cult-like following of the manufacturer’s futuristic cars. It would make a lot of sense to have a native streaming service built into their cars and products instead of making end users stream through any of the available third party applications. This could be a big money maker for Tesla.

Will we all have access?

The article did not mention whether this streaming service would be available to the public. For users that own a Tesla, they will be offering streaming services as a paid service in price tiers depending on the needs of the end user. I am very interested to see if they release this streaming service to the public. After services like Tidal turned into a train wreck, this could turn into a risky venture if they decide to go public.

A representative for Tesla made the following comment about the new service at the press conference: “We believe it’s important to have an exceptional in-car experience so our customers can listen to the music they want from whatever source they choose. Our goal is to simply achieve maximum happiness for our customers.”

If Elon Musk decides to go through with this venture, it wouldn’t be surprising. He has already jumped into the industry of solar power, space travel, and his cornerstone company Tesla. Whether this is successful or not, there isn’t much stopping the billionaire from bringing the music directly to his customer base.
