United Talent Agency Acquires Circle Talent Agency

UTA Acquires CTA

United Talent Agency has acquired leading electronic dance music agency Circle Talent Agency. As a result, Circle Talent partners Steve Gordon and Kevin Gimble will work closely with United Talent Agency’s global head-of-music David Zedeck.

About Circle Talent Agency

Circle Talent Agency was formed by Kevin Gimble in the 1990s. At one point he was an agent to 75 drum and bass artists. Previously, he did all of this by himself. Later, he brought Steve Gordon into the agency. Before working for Circle Talent Agency, Gordon was an event promoter in Baltimore. At the time, he was also mostly responsible for the first hard-ticket dubstep tours.

Circle’s roster includes electronic artists Marshmello, Kaskade, Illenium, Excision, and Ganja White Night.

UTA Acquisitions

Previously, in 2015, United Talent Agency acquired The Agency Group. This organization was one the world’s top independent booking agencies. The acquisition expanded the division to six offices globally. It also established United Talent Agency as a major player in artist representation.

Circle Talent Agency’s roster of clients will now have access to United Talent Agency’s full breadth of practice areas. This includes their digital content platforms, motion pictures, television and broadcast news, as well as video games, books, fine art, branding, licensing, and speaking engagements.

Statements

United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer made the following statement

The acquisition of Circle Talent Agency is a tremendous addition for United Talent Agency as we continue to build momentum in our music business. Electronic music is now a multi-billion dollar business and one of the fastest-growing genres.

Having Circle, its talented agents and incredible roster under our umbrella immediately establishes a major connection for us with the next generation of music fans, and United Talent Agency as a leader in the dance space. We are thrilled to have this agency and its great artists joining our company.

Steve Gordon confirmed the news:

Yes, we are so pumped!

Steve Gordon and Kevin Gimble also made the following combined statement:

We have watched United Talent Agency evolve into a major entertainment company with global reach. We felt now was the perfect time to combine our resources to provide even greater opportunities for our clients. We’re excited to join a growing music team that shares our client-first values.

David Zedeck, United Talent Agency head-of-music also made a statement:

Steve, Kevin, and the team at Circle started a business in a niche genre that has gained cultural relevancy around the world. They have done a tremendous job developing their artists into international touring superstars. I look forward to working with them to expand our global business as well as to offer their clients a broad scope of opportunities across the agency.
