The annual Labor Day weekend music festival, Electric Zoo, has become an end-of-summer tradition for fans of the electronic music genre that isonly growing in popularity on Billboard charts. Electric Zoo Festival is held in Randall’s Island Park in New York City from August 30th to September 1st. Along with DJs and live performances, the festival grounds are transformed into a colorful escape. Not only that, but also the festival will also feature art, interactive displays, and fun activities to explore, all while waiting for your favorite acts to take the stage.
Additionally, the festival vendors include a wide variety of food options, including burgers, pizza, as well as many other local and vegetarian/vegan choices. The options are endless for any hungry festival-goer. Attendees can also opt for vendors that serve non-alcoholic drinks, with choices of champagne and beer for guests over age 21.
Electric Zoo 2019 Theme
The festival has a theme each year, and past vibes have included Urban Jungle, the Wild Island, the 6th Boro and The BIG 10 theme from last year. This year, EVOLVED will highlight its transformation by featuring world-acclaimed DJs, mind-bending production and an array of vivid art. Consequently, the theme was inspired by the quote “…that change is not only a natural part of life but the only way to reveal true beauty.”

Where To Stay
Firstly, staying near the festival group is always the most convenient. In this case particularly, look into getting a place in Astoria (Queens). Depending on where you stay, you can walk over the bridge (Robert F. Kennedy/Triborough Bridge) to the festival to save on Uber costs. Astoria is a great neighborhood with a ton of greats bars and restaurants and a lot to do. It is also a quick 15-20 minute subway ride to midtown Manhattan.
Getting To Electric Zoo
The festival is offering transportation: MTA buses and subways, car service pick-ups and drop-offs, round-trip Ferry rides, walking and biking routes,, along with direct-route Brooklyn shuttles.
Shuttles & Ferry: Shuttles depart and return to 61 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249. Shuttles will be running consistently throughout the day starting at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 31st and at 12:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday until 30 minutes after the festival ends. The trip only takes about ten minutes. Ferries depart from East 35th Street Ferry Landing located at the intersection of East 35th Street at the FDR Drive. The trip takes about 25 minutes. Maybe even weigh your options on a party bus vs limo.
Walking/Biking: You can also walk, bike, or drive to the festival. Cyclists and pedestrians can make their way to the festival by walking across the footbridge from E. 103rd St. in Manhattan onto Randall’s Island Park. It takes about 20-25 minutes to walk from the Manhattan side of the footbridge to the festival entrance. Pedestrians can also walk across the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge from Manhattan (about 15 minutes), Queens (about 30 minutes), or the Bronx (about 15 minutes)
